What is Talli?

Talli is a drinks discovery platform for India. Look up what a bottle actually costs in your state, compare it against the alternatives, and read plain-English tasting notes before you spend the money.

We list 4,650 drinks and hold prices on record for 3,801 of them across 11 states.

We also run our own licensed shop in Thane, Maharashtra — that is the one place we deliver. Everywhere else, Talli is for finding and comparing rather than ordering.

Question 2

Why is the same bottle a different price in another city?

Accepted Answer

Because alcohol in India is taxed by the state, not by the centre. Every state sets its own excise duty, VAT and label registration fees, so the same 750ml bottle can differ by hundreds of rupees between Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka — same brand, same week, different price.

That is why we ask for your city before showing you a price. Change the city at the top of any page and every price on the site switches to that market, so you are never reading Haryana's price while shopping in Mumbai.

Where do your prices come from, and how current are they?

We compile them from published state excise rate lists and from retailer catalogues in each market, and we refresh them in batches rather than live.

So treat a Talli price as a well-researched guide to what a bottle should cost in your state — not as a live quote from a particular shop. Shelf prices move when a state revises duty, and individual retailers vary.

If a price looks wrong, please tell us. Corrections from readers are one of the main ways this data gets better.

Which states and cities do you cover?

We hold prices for 11 states: Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Goa, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. You can pick from 29 cities in the location selector.

Coverage is not even. Haryana and Maharashtra have the deepest catalogues; Andhra Pradesh is the thinnest so far. We are adding markets steadily — if your city is not there yet, it is on the list rather than ruled out.

Can I buy on Talli, or do you only show prices?

Both, depending on where you are.

In Thane, Maharashtra we run our own licensed shop, so you can order online and we will deliver it.

Everywhere else in India, Talli is a discovery and price-comparison site. Browse, compare and decide here, then buy at your local licensed retailer. We do not ship alcohol across state lines — in India, nobody legally can.

Question 6

Does "listed here" mean my local shop has it in stock?

Not necessarily. A listing means we hold a price on record for that product in your state, so it is approved for sale there and you know roughly what it should cost.

It does not mean a particular shop near you has it on the shelf today. Stock varies store to store and popular labels run out. Use our price as what to expect, then check availability with the retailer.

Question 7

What are the taste notes, and who writes them?

We have written plain-English tasting notes for 4,478 of the drinks we list — what it actually tastes like, and where it sits on sweet, smoky, bitter and full-bodied. Each product page also suggests dishes to eat alongside it.

They are written in-house, for someone deciding what to buy, rather than lifted from the producer's marketing copy. Where a distillery publishes its own tasting note we will use it as a source, but the words are ours.

Why is the alcohol strength or another detail blank on some products?

Accepted Answer

Because we would rather leave a field empty than guess at it. Every fact on a product page is meant to trace back to a source — the producer's own site, an excise filing, or the label itself.

Alcohol strength is the hardest of them. It is market-specific, so a brand can bottle at a different ABV for India than for export, and many Indian producers do not publish it at all. When we cannot source it, we leave it blank.

A blank is honest. An invented number is not.

Question 9

How do I find something when I know the taste I want but not the name?

Open any product and you will see its taste profile — how sweet, smoky, bitter or full-bodied it is — the dishes it goes well with, and a row of related bottles priced for your city.

That related row is the quickest way to travel sideways from something you already like to something new in the same range.

Can I leave a review on a product?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and you do not need an account. Open the product, scroll down to the reviews, and leave a rating and a few words.

Honest notes help the next person far more than a star rating on its own — especially if you tried something and it was not for you.

A price looks wrong, or something is missing. How do I tell you?

Use the form on this page, or email support@tallidrinks.com with the product name, your city, and what you saw. If it is a price, tell us where you found the different number.

We would much rather hear it than leave it sitting wrong on the site. Reader corrections are how the catalogue gets sharper.

Do you deliver? Where?

We deliver in Thane, Maharashtra, from our own licensed shop, usually in under 60 minutes.

Outside Thane we do not deliver. Talli is still worth using there to look up prices and compare bottles, but you will buy from a local licensed retailer.

How do I place an order?

Accepted Answer

Ordering is available in Thane. Register on Talli, add what you want to the cart, add your delivery address and pay. Delivery usually reaches you in under 60 minutes.

You can add delivery instructions on the cart page — do not ring the bell, call when you reach the gate, and so on.

Question 14

What will I need when the order arrives?

Accepted Answer

Our delivery staff will ask to see a valid ID showing you are 25 or older, and will scan it to verify your age. That information is not stored.

We cannot hand over an order without it, and we cannot serve anyone under age.

What is the delivery time?

We work hard to get orders to you in under 60 minutes in Thane.

Times do move with traffic, weather and how busy we are, and addresses further from the shop take a little longer. If something is holding your order up, call us on +91 7779027171.

Question 16

How do I track my order?

Accepted Answer

You will get an update at each step. On the website, open My Orders and select the order to see where it has reached. In the app, go to Profile, then My Orders, then Track Order — turn on notifications if you want the updates pushed to your phone.

Once an order has been accepted for delivery, you can also call the rider directly.

Question 17

I want to cancel my order.

Accepted Answer

Call us on +91 7779027171 as soon as you can. If the order has not yet gone to the shop for picking, we can usually cancel it for you.

Once an order is confirmed and on its way, we may have to charge a cancellation fee of up to the value of the order, to cover what has already been paid out.

What is the return and exchange process?

If we deliver the wrong product, or it arrives damaged, call +91 7779027171 or email support@tallidrinks.com and we will arrange to collect it. Returns are normally accepted within 5 days of purchase.

Refunds are processed once the product is back with us, and usually reach your account 3 to 5 working days after that, depending on your bank.

How do I remove something from my cart?

On the website, open your cart and remove the item from there. In the app, swipe left on the product to remove it.
