Pignolo is a rare black grape from Friuli Venezia Giulia in north-east Italy that came close to disappearing before a handful of growers replanted it. It carries high tannin and deep colour, and wines made from it are usually given a long spell in barrel before release. Radikon pairs it with Merlot, a Bordeaux grape, in this 2022.
