Barbaresco comes from a small group of villages in Piedmont, north-west Italy, a short distance from Barolo, and the rules there allow only one grape: Nebbiolo. Barbaresco also has a shorter minimum ageing period before release than Barolo, one of the formal differences written into the two sets of rules. Ritorno's bottling comes from that zone.
