Sauvignon Blanc is French, behind the whites of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire and grown throughout Bordeaux. Laboratory DNA work later showed it to be a parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, crossed naturally with Cabernet Franc. It is among the more commonly planted white grapes in India, and Fratelli's comes from Maharashtra.
