Producers sometimes choose the name Shiraz for a riper, fuller style and Syrah for a leaner one, though nothing in law divides the two — the grape is the same either way. Desaal's label gives the grape and little else: no vintage, no growing area, no producer.
DESAAL SHIRAZ is bottled at 15% ABV.
On the palate, Desaal Shiraz shows blackberry, black pepper and a curl of smoke. It is medium to full in the mouth, with tannins that grip just enough to keep it savoury.
